Julio Galeote (esp)
Julio Galeote (Madrid, 1977) trabaja con la fotografía, la instalación y los medios audiovisuales para explorar temas como la creación de realidades a través de documentaciones fotográficas y la construcción de simulacros escultóricos para transformarlos en imágenes ambiguas que crean espacios imaginarios.
Tiene un Máster en Bellas Artes, Fotografía por el Royal Collage of Art (Londres) y un Máster en Fotografía por EFTi (Madrid), así como un título en Ingeniería Industrial y ha expuesto en instituciones como la Photographer’s Gallery y Christie’s Gallery en Londres, Círculo de Bellas Artes, Tabacalera, Centro Centro, MACUF, Centro de Arte Alcobendas, Centro Niemeyer, Casa América, Museo Portugués de Fotografía, y en diversas galerías comerciales con exposiciones individuales y colectivas.
Su trabajo también se ha presentado en ferias de arte internacionales como ARCO, MadridPhoto, SWAB, London Art Fair y festivales como PhotoEspaña, Encontros da imagen (Portugal), Fotofestiwal (Polonia), y el Korean International Photofestival. Las residencias que ha completado incluyen becas en la Academia de Español en Roma, Art Center South Florida en Miami y La Filature, Mulhouse en Francia. Entre sus premios destacan los Circuitos de Artes Plásticas de la Comunidad de Madrid, INJUVE, concurso de fotografía Purificación García y FreshFaced + WildEyed de The Photographer’s Gallery London, y ha trabajado en colecciones tanto públicas como privadas.
Julio Galeote (Madrid, 1977) works with photography, installation and audiovisual media to explore themes such as the creation of realities through photographic documentation and the construction of sculptural simulacra to transform them into ambiguous images that create imaginary spaces.
He holds an MA in Fine Art, Photography from the Royal College of Art (London) and an MA in Photography from EFTi (Madrid), as well as a degree in Industrial Engineering and has exhibited in institutions such as the Photographer’s Gallery and Christie’s Gallery in London, Círculo de Bellas Artes, Tabacalera, Centro Centro Centro, MACUF, Centro de Arte Alcobendas, Centro Niemeyer, Casa América, Museo Portugués de Fotografía, and in various commercial galleries with solo and group exhibitions.
His work has also been presented at international art fairs such as ARCO, MadridPhoto, SWAB, London Art Fair and festivals such as PhotoEspaña, Encontros da imagen (Portugal), Fotofestiwal (Poland), and the Korean International Photofestival. Residencies he has completed include fellowships at the Spanish Academy in Rome, Art Center South Florida in Miami and La Filature, Mulhouse in France.
